Barclay Villa

By the time my now husband and I went to tour Barclay Villa in May 2010, we had been looking at venues since we had gotten engaged in February 2010. We were looking for a venue that offered an outdoor ceremony and had its own beauty for the reception site. We were hesitant due to the distance from Raleigh, which is where we live but let me tell you, Barclay took our breath away upon first sight and any concerns we had completely disappeared. However, the further along we got into our tour the more we learned that it was not just a beautiful venue with a stunning site for a garden ceremony but the venue had SO much more to offer! We knew that we would not be looking any more, we were totally sold, this was going to be where we got married and we had no doublt that it was going to be phenomenal. Cathy and Cindy are phenomenal! They took care of our every need prior to the wedding and were more then attentive on our day. Cathy was our wedding coordinator and helped us through the whole process of planning. I can honeslty say that my mom and I would probably have been lost without her and Cindy's guidance. They were available to answer all our questions and meet with us multiple times during the planning. This venue is AMAZING. We had our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner there on Friday night, around the large fountain. It was BEAUTIFUL; truly well done. Our rehearsal went extremely well, no problems what so ever. Cathy and Cindy are so professional and they have weddings down to a science. Friday night my girls and I were able to spend the night at Barclay which was SOOO much fun!! Those memories are irreplaceable. We were provided with breakfast and lunch the next morning and encouraged to relax because Cathy and Cindy took care of EVERYTHING. All I had to do was enjoy spending time with my girls and my mom. The wedding was PERFECT. It was so beautiful, I could not have asked for a more perfect day. After the wedding my husband and I spent our first night together as husband and wife at Barclay. In the morning we were treated to breakfast by owners of the house. This whole family is so sweet and caring; my husband, my family, and myself are so thankful they opened up their home to use and made sure our wedding was one of a kind, beautiful, and an extremely special day! Barclay felt like home to me and Barclay's staff feels like family!! Every bride should be so lucky to have no worries in wedding planning and to enjoy their day as much as I did!

On my wedding day there happened to be some of the worst weather North Carolina has ever seen. There we a lot of tornadoes that touched down. But I did not have to worry at all. Cathy and Cindy had everything under control and I did not have to do a thing. They kept me and all the guests calm and the wedding still went off without a hitch. They are truly a god send and if I had to do my wedding over I would definitely go with Barclay Villa! They will make all your dreams come true! They definitely made all of mine! Thanks again Barclay Villa!

My husband and I visited several wedding venues before we visited the Barclay Villa. Honestly, on the drive out to the site, we thought it was way too long of a drive from Raleigh. Once we arrived though -- the minute were greeted by the friendly Teresa and stepped through the majestic doors -- we knew this place would be our wedding locale.We couldn't be more pleased with our selection. The house itself is beautiful and beautifully kept. It had the "old world" feel we desired. Step outside, though, and you are surrounded by lush greenery and tall trees, as well as several glistening pools. There are even several fire elements available, including an outdoor fireplace. The grounds are just spectacular.While the cost may be on the high end for some, the price is spelled out for you, with no hidden "gotchas." The value for the cost is excellent. We were able to make a weekend event out of our wedding. We stayed at the luxurious house, and we even had my in-laws and my mother and sister stay with us. It made for a truly special weekend. You truly feel like royalty the entire weekend. It is worth every penny.There are different packages available, however. So, don't bypass this location before examining their packages. We were fortunate enough to be able to splurge on a weekend package, but I know the service you would receive with any package would be top-notch.We were provided breakfast each morning, and the house was clean and just a treat to stay in for the weekend. We were encouraged to make it our home for the weekend and the staff catered to our needs. We truly felt like royalty.If you book the Barclay Villa, you will have to use their caterer at an additional expense (based on what you want them to prepare), and you will have to pay a "coordinator" fee as well. Again, every cost is spelled out for you in advance, so you can decide what works for you.The staff at both the house and the catering company (which I will review separately - Barclay Catering and Event Planning) are so gracious, friendly and provide such attention to detail that you will be glad you chose them.We are. We still think back on how perfect the weekend was for us and how special the staff made us feel.

Treated us like royalty from Friday to Sunday. They did not miss anything, it is a spectacular castle.

My daughter and son-in-law were married at Barclay Villa in Angier NC on June 26, 2010. I absolutely cannot say enough positive things about this vendor. Excellent service, beautiful atmosphere, and I a staff that is uncomparable. From the moment my husband and I made a final delivery to Barclay, one of the staff turned to me and said now you enjoy yourself and have a great wedding weekend. This meant the world to me because it took the stress off and I was comfortable with turning eveything over to Barclay. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!!!

The venue was perfect for my outdoor ceremony and then dinner/reception inside. We had over 210 people and unfortunately some had to be seated outdoors for dinner and it was extremely hot and humid. Some fans would have made the guests eating outside much more comfortable. The staff worked hard to achieve the look and feeling that I wanted for my wedding. The food was delicious and was loved by all attending. We did have quite a bit of food left over and it would have been nice for the staff to offer to pack some up in to go boxes for out of town guests to take back to the hotel. The Barclay staff took care of myself and my bridesmaids the night before the wedding and provdied us with a fun and relaxing time of sharing before the big day. The atmosphere and decor was exceptional and many of our guests commented on it "being the most beautiful wedding" they had ever attended. Barclay provided us a week end of memories that will last a lifetime.

My unforgettable experience at Barclay Villa goes beyond the beautiful venue. Cathy and her staff really helped make the planning process enjoyable and less stressful. They are all so friendly and always made me feel my wants and opinions were important. The whole wedding weekend was wonderful. Cathy really guides you during the rehearsal and wedding day. I was not worried one bit about anything going wrong because I knew that they had it under control. I am so glad that I chose to have my wedding at Barclay. And I have heard nothing but great things from my guests. They really did make my wedding dreams come true!A big THANK YOU to everyone from Barclay!

Barclay Villa is a beautiful location and everyone we have spoken to that attended our wedding said it was the best wedding they've ever been to - some of them including their own!The staff was amazing and truly made me feel like a princess. They took care of every detail imaginable and everything went off without a hitch. Everyone at the castle is extremely friendly and helpful. Barclay Villa made my fairy tale wedding a dream come true!

I could not imagined a more beautiful place to hold my wedding! Barclay is amazing. The Villa is decorated beautifully the grounds always looked manicured and well taken care of. The staff is so friendly and always willing to help. If I had to choose again I would choose to get married at Barclay Villa over and over again.

This is one of the most beautiful venues to have a wedding! Not only that, but it's relativly affordable, a great value and so much fun. The woman who owns the Villa and the caterer for the Villa are sisters, so they work well together to coordinate everything from Bridal Portraits to walking down the aisle, and from "I know pronounce you" to wedding night. The venue is flexible for outdoor and indoor ceremonies and receptions. The tables, chairs, choice of table linens, and chair covers (or bows) are included in the price as well as some table decor and candelabras. The Villa is techincally a Bed & Breakfast, and it is all yours for the day and evening if you choose. They will bring breakfast up to the honeymoon suite for you the next day, and set aside plates from your reception for you and your significant other to have for a late night snack after the wedding.The caterer is great! The food is delicious, the presentation is beautiful, and the service is great! I would recommend this venue to brides who will have 125 guests or less and who would like to have an outdoor ceremony. We had our wedding on a Sunday evening so we got to take advantage of a lower price and still had the evening reception that we were looking for. I cannot say enough good things about this Venue and Caterer! It was wonderful!

Words cannot express how happy I am with Barclay Villa! I booked the villa the same day that I went in for a consultation/tour. Their motto is "where dreams come true" and they certainly lived up to it. THe grounds were beautiful, the house (castle) was beautiful and everything was spotless and well maintained. The service was impeccable! I am so glad that I stumbled upon this jewel of a place! It was truly a day to remember!

This is the most beautiful venue in North Carolina ! The staff is great! They went above and beyond our expectations and treated us like royalty. Very professional and extremely helpful. If i had to do it all over again I would do it right there at the barclay Villa. You must visit the website to understand what I'm talking about.
